Using the internet along with the given web sources, students’ will investigate what it was like to be said person (e.g. A student picks a “photojournalist/reporter”; they will research the occupation and put together a detailed description of their job in Vietnam). Initially, the students’ will be able to “see” the war through the lenses of different persons serving in Vietnam. Assessment: Students will form a panel discussion group. Each panel should be comprised of different war occupants (e.g. a nurse, solider, civilian, etc). The panelist will not only discuss their research, but also be able to answer the overarching question: “what was the effect of the Vietnam War on the particular group?” Additionally, each student will complete and turn in a “self-reflection” of the assignment.
